Houston, TX Free Fun You Can't Miss

For the budget-conscious among us, Houston offers a variety of fun activities. There are a lot of free events taking place throughout the city in parks, green spaces, museums, and even performance venues. Find out what's free and what's fun!
1. A visit to Houston might not be complete without a stop at Miller Outdoor Theatre. In addition to classical music, ballet, dance, film, Shakespeare, and more, the venue hosts a variety of performances from March through November. Pack a picnic and join us for the show at the theater in Hermann Park, which allows patrons to bring their own alcohol.
2.  Located in downtown Houston, Discovery Green is a 12-acre park designed for all ages and backgrounds serving workers, residents, and visitors. There are many things to see and do, from tree-lined paths to a peaceful pond to grassy slopes that offer postcard views of downtown. The Model Boat Pond can be enjoyed along with the jogging trail that surrounds the park. Large and small dogs can take advantage of special dog fountains and runs.
3.  Founded in 2004, Urban Harvest's Saturday Farmers Market offered community and backyard gardeners an outlet to sell fresh, locally grown produce. In addition to Animal Farm, Atkinson Farms, and Pat Greer's Kitchen, we now support over 100 local Houston farmers market vendors at one of Texas' largest farmers markets.
